A citizens’ conference on autonomous driving began in Berlin on the first March weekend of 2021. Twenty citizens have the opportunity to learn about the future of mobility over three weekends. The first weekend was spent associating together what images one and the other associate with self-driving vehicles, the first experts were interviewed, and the advantages and disadvantages of the technology for Berlin were discussed in a World Café. At the end of the citizens’ conference, the citizens will draw up their own citizens’ vote, which will then be ceremoniously handed over to Berlin’s state politicians.
The citizens’ conference is organized by Jörg Welke and Malte Jacobsen from the Berlin Agency for Electromobility eMO, at Berlin Partner for Business and Technology, and moderated by Dr. René Zimmer from re:member.
